Colours on Palm V pigtail are different from Palm III pigtail!!
If you want to use pin7 for an external hotsync button, open the Palm V connector carefully with a knife around the edges and connect orange or white from pin10 to pin7.
Pin 2 (red) and pin 10 (black) are of thicker wire, because they carry
the charging current for the internal LiION battery.
Be careful with this red wire if you leave the ends open or cut them
- a good idea is to leave this wire slightly longer than the other cut
/ uneeded cable ends. A small pinpoint of glue to the tip of the cable
end is also useful. Your Palm V won't like getting short circuited ...
Cable screen is not connected at all on PalmV side - if you want screening,
connect it to physical ground at other cable end, e.g. to the connector
frame on DB9 or DB25 connectors.
